A 450 pound black marlin caught during a fishing trip near Cairns, Australia. Some 22 minutes into the fight it panics and goes deep and finds itself far from alone. Instead of safety it runs into sharks. Wrong move. The black marlin ends up eaten by a shark or sharks before being brought aboard.
That weight of the fish is, of course, just an estimate, since the whole marlin was never landed on the fishing boat. However, 450 pounds for that black marlin seems a reasonable figure.
